How to Register
Registration for the 2026 winter/spring term is open to students in Grade One and older. Three choirs are offered:
JUNIOR CHOIR – Wednesday evenings, 6 to 7 pm ~ Colette Nadeau & Kristina Taylor, directors
INTERMEDIATE CHOIR – Wednesdays, 6 to 7:30 pm ~ Jessie Lloyd, director
SENIOR CHOIR – Wednesdays, 6 to 7:30 pm ~ Heather Charsley, director
Colette and Kristina also assist the other two choir directors as needed.
Weekly in-person choir rehearsals are held at Sudbury Secondary School, 154 College St. in downtown Sudbury, starting on Wednesday January 21. When the school is not available, rehearsals move to the Sudbury Theatre Centre, 170 Shaughnessy St.
Pre-registration is strongly encouraged, to help us with our planning.

Please complete one registration form for each participating singer in your family. (If you are registering more than one child in the same family, we consider the oldest participating child as the first child, and so on.)
2. ASSESSMENT: Students who are registered by Monday January 19th will be assigned a 15-minute timeslot on Wednesday, January 21 between 5:30 and 6:00 pm. Groups of five-six students of a similar age will meet with two of our choir directors to engage in a series of short exercises to assess their musical background and experience. This will help us to place each student in the choir most appropriate for them.
PLEASE NOTE:This is not an audition to determine whether your child can participate in the choir or not. ALL interested children and youth are welcome to sing in one of our choirs.
3. PAYMENT: There is no cost to register for the assessment. Registration costs are listed in the online form. More information about how to pay for the term by e-transfer will be provided at the assessment.
*New students have the option of attending the first rehearsal at no cost to see what YSS has to offer, before parents make a financial commitment.
To submit your payment:
a) If you wish to pay by e-transfer, we will provide banking instructions in response to your email request.
OR
b) You may mail a cheque payable to “YOUNG SUDBURY SINGERS” (one cheque per family please) to:

*PLEASE NOTE: Registration is not complete until payment is received.
SUBSIDIES AVAILABLE – YSS has a Sponsorship Fund to which families can apply to help offset their child’s fees. For more information, contact our General Manager (see contact information below).
*A limited number of subsidies are available for eligible students, based on need. Subsidies are generally awarded for 50% of a term’s costs – in cases of exceptional need, larger subsidies may be available.
